MLK Day of Service at BHOB

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., we’re hosting a volunteer service work party on April 13, 2024 (rescheduled from January). Join us to enhance the experience of our pantry guests (and volunteers) by making needed improvements to our building, both inside and out. MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated by Congress as a national day of service—a “day on, not a day off.” Let’s come together to celebrate the civil rights leader’s life and legacy and to create meaningful change in our community. Please RSVP so we know you’re coming. 

Groups, individuals, families, and businesses are all welcome. Types of service activities include:

• • Food Pantry: stocking, organizing, repackaging bulk foods
  • General Facilities: painting, making needed repairs
  • Sharing & Caring Clothing Store: sorting, folding, hanging clothing
  • Garden & Grounds Maintenance: painting outside benches, raking, pruning, spreading wood chips
