Get Food
We understand that life happens, but hunger shouldn’t. If you’re in need, we’re here to help you. Asking for help can be difficult, but getting food from Bethlehem House of Bread is free, simple and confidential. Our friendly volunteers are here to assist you.
Donate FoodFood Pantry
The Bethlehem House of Bread food pantry is open three days a week for anyone who needs food—no one is turned away. You can shop at the pantry one time every other week according to your “assigned color.” If it is your first time with us, when you arrive, you’ll be asked basic information like your name and number of people in your family for an intake form. All information remains confidential. You’ll be given a small card with a color: bright green or bright orange. Your color determines the weeks in a month you can shop. View or download the color calendar (Note: Adobe Acrobat Reader required).
With an eye toward healthy food, our pantry shelves are stocked with many of the same products and staples you would find at a standard grocery store. We have recipes available to inspire you to try a new dish and encourage healthy eating. Interested in volunteering? Visit our Volunteer page for all the details.
There are two options for getting food: 1) In-pantry Shopping or 2) Grab & Go Room.

1In-Pantry Shopping
When you arrive, you’ll get a card with a number on it which determines the order in which you shop in the pantry. We’ll let you know when it’s your turn to come inside. Friendly volunteers will assist you through the pantry and help you choose items that meet the needs and preferences of your family.
In-person pantry shopping provides the most options and choices to select the food you want.

2Grab & Go Room
When you arrive, let a volunteer know you want to shop the “grab & go” room. Inside, you can choose food similar to what’s in the pantry (minus a few categories).
Shopping in the “Grab & Go” room offers fewer options to choose the food you want. If you’re in a hurry this may be a better option for you.
Food For All
Our Food For All program provides culturally relevant food and options for pantry guests with food allergies and sensitivities, and other dietary or lifestyle preferences. Serving our pantry guests is more than putting food on the plate, we want to serve our community equitably and provide food that is familiar, culturally relevant and they can and want to eat.
As a pantry guest, if you have special dietary needs or suggestions for food you’d like to see on pantry shelves, let us know!
“I don’t know what I would have done without this little food pantry with such a big heart.”
— Danny (pantry guest)
