How We Nourish Our Neighbors
It takes more than food to fight hunger, and Bethlehem House of Bread offers a variety of programs to meet the ongoing needs of our community. Our approach to providing food and other essentials to neighbors is as unique as they are.
Food For All
Food For All provides culturally relevant food and options for pantry guests with food allergies and sensitivities, and other dietary or lifestyle preferences. Serving our pantry guests is more than putting food on the plate, we want to serve our community equitably and provide food that is familiar, culturally relevant and they can and want to eat.
Learn MoreMonthly Pantry Challenges
Every month, we collect a particular item to fill pantry shelves. Our pantry challenges focus on our most needed items—things we’re low on—and we’re always happily overwhelmed by the response. We hope you’ll be part of our challenges to help support the over 700 families we serve monthly.
Learn MoreCommunity Engagement
We go beyond what you may find at other food pantries by offering nutrition education and life skills classes, as well as engaging in conversations that can benefit the entire community. We hope you’ll join us. Have an idea for a workshop or class? Reach out to us.
See What's Coming UpPeriod Products
Nearly two-thirds of women in the U.S. with a low income cannot afford menstrual products, while about half sometimes must choose between buying food or these types of products. Lack of access to menstrual products can negatively affect a women’s mental health. Women who are unable to purchase what they need often miss school or work, and can struggle to participate in daily activities.
Learn MoreLittle Free Library
We have three Little Free Libraries onsite to build community, inspire readership, and expand access to books. We encourage everyone to browse our little libraries and to take a book, leave a book and then return and do it all over again.
